Review of Ladyhawke (1985) by Lindsay W — 04 Jan 2009
A beautiful concept and story. Matthew Broderick was hysterical as the comedic thief, and Michelle Pfeiffer made the perfect enchanted beauty. The story drags a bit in the middle, and Rutger Hauer seems to me too villainous-looking for the part (probably due to his impeccable role in Bladerunner.
) The story is hurt most by the abysmal soundtrack, which is distractingly awful. An entertaining and smart idea, but a little too overpowered by 80s culture for a medieval piece.
