Review of Ladyhawke (1985) by Warren S — 30 Jan 2009
Saw this again recently and it is a favorite. Yeah.. I guess I like the fantasy/fairy tale type stories. In this one... Matthew Broderick plays a young thief in the old world who escapes the dungeon and comes into contact with a renegade knight who travels with a hawk.
It doesn't take long to figure out that as soon as the sun sets, the man turns into a wolf and the hawk into a beautiful woman. Michelle Pfeiffer and Rutger Hauer play the lovers who are forever separated by an evil curse, put upon them by none other than the wicked Bishop.
He tries to hunt them down, and they get help from an old priest. Broderick talks to God all the time and learns a bit about faith and the old priest learns forgiveness. (for himself).
