Review of Lady Vengeance (2005) by Amanda K — 18 Jul 2008
Finally got around to finishing up the vengeance trilogy! By far the most "feel good" of the trilogy... and by feel good I mean the protagonist doesn't end up tongueless and sleeping with his own daughter.
.. or just dead. I'd have to say I liked it better than Oldboy (the "twist" ending irked the crap out of me... not a very good twist) but slightly less than Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. It balanced sweetness with torture perfectly which the other movies lacked.
Geum-Ja is an amazing character, shaped and in some cases deformed by her experiences.
