Review of Lady Vengeance (2005) by Sumit S — 09 Nov 2012
Starting with a stylistically crafted Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, following it up with his magnum opus, Oldboy, Chan Wook Park finally culminates his Vengeance Trilogy with Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, another very well crafted revenge drama.
Though this movie doesn't exactly reach the same heights as Oldboy, it does manage to stay true to the themes n style n look of its predecessors n fits very well in the trilogy. It is more similar in style to Sympathy for Mr.
Vengeance than Oldboy n covers the theme of revenge n redemption in a much more complete manner. Violent n dark but with a purpose, just like its predecessors, Lady Vengeance is a satisfying conclusion to Chan Wook Park's Vengeance trilogy.
