Besides the fact that this is a mouthpiece movie for California Liberals this movie is agonizing. Before I even heard the first trashing of Republicans (there were several) I was fidgeting in my seat and looking at my watch.

Everything about this movie panders to Hollywood Elite Liberals, so it's no wonder the Liberal critics love it. They laugh at a Republican family for having a Reagan photo on the wall. They have a scene where "Lady Bird" trashes a guest speaker at a Catholic school who is speaking against abortion.

Of course the Republican family's son turns out to be a homosexual who's tortured about how to come out to his family. All that aside, it's a movie with one cliche after another, then just ends.

I guess the moral of the story is you can take the trash out of the trailer park but you can't take the trailer park out of the trash.
