Saw this one with my Mom, and after the 100% rating on RT, I was honestly expecting much, much more. Still, it was a solid movie and a great writing/directorial debut. Saoirse Ronan carries the entirety of the film, portraying a broody 90's NorCal teenager with ease.
I related a lot to her character, right down to the yin-yang jewelry and ska listening, but I would have liked to see more development of the supporting characters. Why is her Mom so stressed out?
