Review of Lady Bird (2017) by Emily A — 09 Jan 2018
Teenage years, looking for something to get away, looking for someone to fight with, looking for someone to be friends with, for another one to have sex with, looking for some god. There was something missing from that film.
Or there are so many things going on in a dense time that we miss the power of having something to remember to be taken aback by and other than that we re left with the bitter taste that everyone finds her or his way in the end or everyone understands what it s all about in the end.
It s like a narrative a documentary for teenageyears. And life is not about settling in the end, it s about looking for meaning every single day and about questioning and researching and finding or not , but never stopping.
We watch just facts where is the catharses through every hell she goes through? There are too many things just to be skipping them in a 15 seconds scene.
