A teenager makes life miserable for everyone around her. Meet Juno's insufferable sister.

Pros.

- Laurie Metcalf and Bernie Feldstein.

Cons.

- The movie never explains why she chooses to call herself "Lady Bird".

- Christine is one of the most unlikable characters I have ever met.

- Anti-religious, pro-abortion, anti-authority.

- Given high praise because it's PC.

Final Thoughts.

"Lady Bird" is the name for those tiny beetles called ladybugs. You may know the name as being used by Lady Bird Johnson. When writer Greta Gerwig was asked why the name "Lady Bird", she responded that it was just a title she wrote down, "I have no idea where it came from." So, if you're looking for a deeper meaning, there isn't any.

Christine is an insufferable, undisciplined, ungrateful, pretentious, unlikable, obnoxious, irritating and unappealing malapert.

She calls an old Ronald Regan poster a joke, dumps her loyal best friend to be with the cool kids, storms the men's bathroom because the women's bathroom is too crowded, gets mad at a guy who was clearly gay from the get go, openly defiant to any type of authority, goes to the hospital drunk as soon as she gets to college, jumps outs of a moving car in an argument with her mom, and goes into a fit of rage if she is at all challenged.

Christine is not an awkward teenager. She's mentally ill.
