Review of Labor Day (2013) by Pete G — 24 May 2014
Labor Day has a lot of talent in it, with stars Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet giving fantastic performances. However, the amount of talent on screen cannot save the film from it's sappy script. Aside from the overly emotional script, the plot is fairly unrealistic also.
Most of the running time takes place over a five day period, with some brief flashbacks and a brief epilogue being the exception. And the idea that two people would fall in love over those five days is very far fetched.
So overall, Labor Day is a sappy romantic drama that has some good acting.
