Review of Labor Day (2013) by Michael C — 24 Jan 2015
The acting is very good from all involved. The cinematography is gorgeous. But the story is unbelievable. Exploring the need for sexuality in a hostage situation is interesting, but Labor Day drops the ball by making Josh Brolin a convict-with-a-heart-of-gold, who fixes the house and makes delicious pies.
Within a week, they fall in love and are ready to move to Canada. Zero conflict. Zero interest. I just couldn't buy it.
