Director: Olivier Dahan
Rating:

This is a biographic film on the mid- twentieth century French singer Edith Piaf. The films facts and story of Edith Piafs life are shown in such a raw real sense that it makes the viewer sad and even almost depressing because you know these were her real like events and scenarios that she was placed in. It is amazing and impressive to watch her battle with the things she has in her life and rise to the top and pursue her life long dream and turn it into reality and make it her job. Not only does she rise to the top of her career but she battles with many different thing that take a terrible toll on her body and set her back to a point where she shouldn?t be living the life she is, but she does it anyway because its what she loves. The movie is over all depressing because there is not sugar coating or pure happy ending. I liked that the movie was a series of flashbacks from her life and surpassing all the tremendous disasters that she encountered. All in all this movie is more than entertaining and eye opening, it serves so many life lessons to us as the viewer, and teaches us so many things. Edith Piaf persevered and challenged traditions and convention while figuring out a way to function as one of French history's most deep-rooted personality.
