La Vie en Rose is possibly France's most creatively made film so far. It's a biographical film that follows the life of France's popular singer, Edith Piaf. This movie is a different type of biorgraphical movie by the way that the film is put together. The film doesn't follow her life starting in her childhood and moving throught the years into adulthood, La Vie en Rose randomly shows different periods in Piaf's life by jumping back and forth from her childhood to adulthood. Personally I think this adds to the effect of Edith Piaf's life. Piaf lived a very strange and hard life and this movie depicts that very well.

The actors were incredible and Marion Cotillard commanded the screen. She did an incredible job portraying the sometimes crazy and out of control Piaf. Even during her singing parts I forgot that she was lipsinging. The rest of the cast added to the film as well. They all played their parts out well and none of them made it overdramatic which can happen with a big cast.

I would suggest seeing this film for everyone. It gives you great insight into Edith Piaf's life and how she became so successful. My favorite scene is near the end of the film and portrays her on the beach by herself which was unusual for her. I love this scene because she looks peaceful and she looks like she is finally accepting her life. The movie as a whole is made very well and will keep your attention the entire time through. Be ready to pay attention as scenes tend to jump from one to another but once you get used to the scene changes it's easy to follow and understand.
