Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Daniela L — 05 May 2009

The 2007 film, La Vie en Rose, which was directed by Oliver Dahan was a really inspiring, enlightening, and a moving film. In this film, there were many obstacles that the character, Edith Piaf, had to overcome and this is what intrigued me..
The reason why I like this film is because of the many struggles and problems that Edith Piaf had to overcome. The reason why I liked to see the struggles and problems that she had to go through was because in my life I have had to overcome many and it was just comfort to see that someone else had to go through something similar as me..
I did not particularly like that the movie did switch back and forth between years because that became a little confusing at times. Therefore, it did make it hard to follow the story. Also, I did not like the parts where there was not much lighting because it made it hard to tell what was going on. .
In the film, La Vie en Rose, there was one idea that interested me in this film. This one was about the fact that this poor girl was able to get out of her hard life, live on her own for the most part, and be able to use her talent of singing for something good. I liked this because it was good to see that someone can overcome obstacles and push through the hard times. The thing about this idea that also interested me is that Edith was able to take the good thing that happened to her, which was becoming a famous singer and she let the accident of her signicant lover bring her down to where she was barely living. .
I thought that this movie was very interesting and I believe that everyone should see it. When you do watch it, make sure to have a box of kleenex beside you. .
