Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Feefee H — 20 Jan 2010
Cotillard's perfect performance is really impressive and stunning, that's something pretty obvious for anyone who watches this film. The film itself... well the second half is definitively much better than the first hour, because in it we could see better Cotillard's acting and how amazing was her work in thi movie.
The second half is weirder, but it's more entertaining. There were some really bright moments, for example when the child Edith sings La Marselleise in the street, one of the best scenes in the whole film, beautiful and powerful.
Watching the film as a whole, it's boring though not as much as others. The one-take scene, when she discovers Marcel's death, was really great although it was weird too. My main problem while watching this film was the editing, and a lot of people agree with me on that; the movie would've been better with a more conventional editing and a easier way telling the story.
.. really the jumpy editing was the real reason why I didn't like it very much.
