Review of La Strada (1954) by X. T — 11 Nov 2007
An unforgettable road film about an innocent girl traveling with a brutish strongman. Funny and tragic at the same time. However I find it to be too sentimental at times and the score was poorly used. Quinn gives an amazing performance as the macho, insensitive man.
Masina is excellent as well with her childlike pantomime, although she was much better in Nights of Cabiria.
