Review of La Strada (1954) by Familiar S — 08 Jun 2011
Giulietta Masina's character from this and Toshiro Mifune's character from "Rickshaw Man" should fight it out over who's the most childlike, grin-and-bear-it character of all-time.
She's fascinating here and steals the film until the story relegates her to the background. At that point, the film--predictably--takes a bit of a nosedive. Still, it's quite good overall and it has a wonderful message, I think.
