Review of La Strada (1954) by Joel A — 22 Jan 2013
A beautiful & yet heart wrenching story about a so called 'no name girl' who joins with a strong man and become a traveling circus duo.
This young girls battle with self esteem & being loved & accepted is beautifully contrasted against these very human & selfish men in her life.
As funny and charming as the film is it's at it's core a tragedy, the final scene of this film is the strongman in tears on the shores of the beach knowing the pain & the neglect he caused in the young girl's life...a stunning Italian film that is a must.
