Review of L.A. Story (1991) by Sally A — 08 Jul 2011
This started out very well, a highly amusing, fierce satire of the lives of the rich and vacuous. A lot of the jokes in this film also pre-date a lot of lifestyle jokes and cliches that are commonplace today such as the voice activated telephone and the motorway bill-board that basically sends text messages, long before text messages and the language thereof existed.
However, sadly,as Steve Martin begins to escape his ridiculous lifestyle and find himself the story becomes becomes mundane and predictable. Certainly though this is a very different film.
