Review of La Promesse (1996) by Zack B — 09 Mar 2013
Hesitancy is observable in this, the Dardenne Brother's self-recognized first film. They are toying with the form they would eventually master in Rosetta and in all subsequent films. Still really good though.
Packed with the same emotional urgency as everything they made after.
