Review of La Orca (1976) by Adam S — 12 Mar 2012
Oh, how I hate giving "rotten" reviews. But with this movie, I have no choice.
It was beautifully acted, granted. And some of the scenes were quite funny. But it suffered from misdirection from Guy Ritchie, particularly at the start, and particularly in the Jason Statham plot line, which resulted in me not particularly caring whether or not Brad Pitt knocked out that other guy.
I was lost a lot of the time, and this movie was basically trying, and failing, to be a Tarantino movie. Which is a shame, because I heard it was much like producer Matthew Vaughn's later movie, "Layer Cake", which I thought was a modern masterpiece.
