Review of La Orca (1976) by Chris B — 20 Mar 2015
Snatch is a dark comedy from the mind of Guy Ritchie, and it plays out just as one would expect: hilarious, stylish and a tad overzealous. The first thirty minutes or so can feel like a slog despite the kinetic pacing because of all of the different characters and stories being introduced, but once they have been established, the film really finds its feet.
Great performances from Brad Pitt, Jason Statham and the rest really elevate the production. As usual, the direction from Ritchie is top notch, and it is easy to see why he was given the big budget production for Sherlock Holmes following this film.
If you like your movies violent, filled with curse words, but entertaining to a fault, this one might just be for you. Check it out. 4 out of 5 stars.
