Review of La Notte (1961) by M C — 15 Oct 2016
Wow. A moody little gem; a quiet poetic and melancholic masterpiece that beats on its own. I wish it ended when they're walking down the gold field. However, Americans have never been able to do anything close and I'm surprised they even understand such a film.
The scene at the cabaret influenced the composer Angelo Badalamenti as well as David lunch in its surrealism.
Antonioni's best film by far.
