I enjoyed it but this again is one of those movies that's overrated and will be reduced to 'a good movie' and will be hardly talked about.
At times it can be pretty dull and it drags.
Some reviews so a bygone age or its just they knew how to make an engaging musical; singing in the rain is the greatest. I prefer an Elvis film to this and even Mamma Mia.
I struggle to see the appeal of why it was lauded and won awards. It's appeal is it's a feel good movie and no one has done a musical for awhile so reward it.
The people I have spoken to, that have seen it, the majority of the opinion is it's OK. So where this mass hysteria of its the best film and all this awards and nominations is baffling. It's good but forgettable.
