Review of La La Land (2016) by Kaden C — 10 Oct 2017
Here's to the fools who dream, Damien Chazelle has done it again. La La Land is beautifully directed with a message many films have never sent to the audience. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, the leads in this masterpiece, perform their roles in the best possible way.
Both of their ambitions and dreams feel so real, specifically Sebastian's love for jazz. It breathed much needed life back into a forgotten genre with breathtaking dancing and singing sequences. Each musical sequence feels seamlessly woven with the story.
The dancing and singing feels like a natural continuation of the scene already taking place. This film is not only very well directed, but it also centralizes on the idea that we must pursue our dreams, even if it means sacrificing the things we love.
