Review of La La Land (2016) by Jim S — 02 Jan 2019
Boy, let me tell you that picture I just watched was god awful, it was goddamn terrible. It was even worse than when I went to watch the lunts with old Sally Hayes though ï¿ 1/2The show wasn't as bad as some I've seen. It was on the crappy side, thoughï¿ 1/2Â? (Salinger 139), Sally's an old acquaintance of mine who is not too smart but pretends to be, it makes me goddamn sick sometimes. Anyhow, this movie was way too phony. The guy on the piano was way too serious about himself and made me sick, the thought that the director believed that people actually act like that made me so depressed about society that I just wanted to run away to a cabin somewhere away from everything. But the girl, Emma Stone, she was a knockout and a pretty swell actor to boot. She was the only reason the picture was tolerable, and she was the only good dancer out of all those phonies on screen. She reminded me of old Jane Gallagher, a swell girl that you actually wanted to spend time with. But the rest of those phonies, they made me goddamn sick, none of them could dance and thy were just trying too hard. I guess some of them were ok actors but they were too good if you know what I mean. They just didnï¿ 1/2(TM)t seem real and were too phony to be real people. I guess I'd say that this movie was pretty bad but that Emma Stone gal saves it from being awful so I'd give it a 20%.
