I've been a big fan of of Vincent Cassel's ever since this movie and it has been awesome to watch him mature into other roles such as "Dobermann" and "Irreversible." It is a shame that the american cinema has not used him to his full potential.
What really sold me on this movie back in '96 was how the French's treatment of weapons was captured in this film. I thought that gun ownership was similar across nations and to learn the differences really opened my eyes.
The open quote about the window-washer who falls has stuck with me since I first saw this film.
