Review of La Haine (1995) by Bernadette V — 28 Apr 2008
Although there is an interesting tension between Kassovitz probing steadicam shots and the black & white cinema virete style, it really does feel like docu-drama when the ever boiling tensions, however gritty, is an accurate social study.
Fatalistic yet energetic, much like its three young protagonists (superbly acted by Vincent Cassel, Hubert Kounde and Said Taghmaoui).
