Review of La Haine (1995) by James C — 17 Mar 2009
I liked the direction at some parts. Overall the film irritated me with self-indulgent scenes that went on for too long. People breakdancing for a couple minutes, a DJ spinning records. The three main characters were idiots and quite frankly assholes with very little charm, and I found them grating early into the film.
Just when I thought the film was dragging on there were some moments of excellently setup tension, but they were too few and far between.
