Review of La Haine (1995) by Richard B — 24 Aug 2009
I thought this forgein film was a very solid movie. The directing is great and the film looks amazing even in black and white. The three main actors really impressed me and I believed they were the characters they were portarying.
The plot is fairly simple, but the movie moves along at a fairly brisk pace too. I did like the pop culture references in the movie, which often are not in or don't work in forgein films, but this film has them and they work.
The ending is very good and kinda came out of nowhere, but definitely worked. Overall a very solid forgein film that is pretty artsy and definitely worked for me.
