Review of La Haine (1995) by Zobi L — 27 Sep 2009
Following 3 friends from different ethnic backgrounds for 24 hours after another friend has been shot by police (in riots that actually happened in Paris).. 2 different attitudes towards revenge.. the characters, realistic performances and rich B&W filming are all worthy of note.
. but the last 2 minutes are a heart-stopping example of how to end a movie without unnecessarily protracted endings (NB: u do have to watch the rest first but it's worth it :).
