Review of La Haine (1995) by Richard F — 09 Feb 2010
A Jew, an Arab and a black guy walk into a Parisian art gallery... but La Haine is unfocused and, despite its provocative title, has nothing to say about hate. Moreover, it's bookended by narration that can only be called contrived, and its stylized gimmicks devalue the obvious attempt at realism.
