Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Andy H — 15 Mar 2008
A masterpiece what more do you need to say. People who havenâ??t seen the film think its all about Anita Ekberg basted on the poster and the famous fountain scene, but it is actually about Marcello Mastroiannis character.
There is little plot, it is just a snapshot of Marcellos life set against a backdrop of moral decay. Yes this film is nearly 50 years old the decline of morals isnâ??t a new think it comes up in every generation.
Shot is stark black and white it is Fellini at his best, the 3 hours fly by leaving you emotionally drained but wanting more. It is also believed to be responsible for the word paparazzi.
