Review of La Cage aux Folles (1978) by Warrior P — 03 Nov 2008
The film is not as hilarious as I thought it would be but it still has its moments, only a few though. Although it might be ahead of its time, it can be very stereotypical and cliched in its depiction of gay people and drag queens.
Laurent, the son, seems so annoying and the actor portraying him couldn't act if his life depended on it. Renato's lover is too demanding, sensitive and dramatic, and most of the film's running gags are about his personality and his tendency to overreact.
