Review of La Bête Humaine (1938) by Bill T — 23 Sep 2010
A dark noir-ish drama with complex characters, all of whom seem to have some kind of psychological deficiency, and played very well by all the cast. I liked it, but some of the plot seemed a bit sudden, unbelievable or coincidental.
Very good film, but maybe I was expecting too much due to Renoir's reputation.
