Review of La Bamba (1987) by Luke N — 29 May 2010
La Bamba has got to be (next to raging bull) one the greatest and most hard-hitting biographical dramas ever made. Lou diamond Phillips is incandescent as Ritchie, his performance is matched by Morales who gives a poignant portrayal of Ritchie's half-brother Bob.
The final scene of Bob calling out to his brother is almost haunting.
A magnificent film.
