Review of Kwaidan (1965) by Nelson C — 08 Dec 2007
Visually one of the most stunning films I've seen. Each of the 4 stories are a bit overlong, and for me didn't really deliver the terror or build much suspense. The third story, "Hoichi, the Earless" comes the closest for me.
Some truly fantastic camera work, editing, makeup, lighting, set and costume design are on display throughout this film and on that level alone I recommend this film highly.
