Review of Kwaidan (1965) by Joe A — 19 Nov 2011
Classic Japanese ghost flick is an anthology of spooky stories and while not every story is equally effective, it is the surreal and beautiful visuals and the amazing cinematography that keep the ghostly atmosphere flowing and the viewer entranced.
As a side note...The Japanese filmakers of this era knew how to to evoke the beauty of a snowscape like no other filmmakers before or since and this film is a major example of what I am refering to.
