Review of Kurt & Courtney (1998) by Dillinger P — 13 Nov 2014
This is absolutely the worst music documentary I have ever seen. The subject matter was promising, as the questions and conspiracies surrounding Kurt Cobain's death are intriguing, however the presentation fell completely flat.
The filmmaker pieced together awkward interviews riddled with baited questions and "Oh my gosh another roadblock! THEY'RE TRYING TO SILENCE ME!" moments to form an incohesive and embarrassing attempt at journalism.
The only redeeming thing about this film was seeing the many photos from Kurt's life, but aside from that the whole thing is just sloppy. As another reviewer stated, it was almost comical to watch the trainwreck of "journalism" take place, from being kicked out of buildings to interrupting interviewees and making them visibly uncomfortable.
