Review of Kung Fury (2015) by Frederic C. B — 26 Jul 2015
The Good:
Cheesy and campy, with ridiculous over the top story that makes zero sense, but certainly lots of fun to watch because it's not afraid to go all out corny. Many cool moments as part of the 80s nods, particularly the animated sequence as well as the 'Hoff 9000'. Exciting, albeit downright corny, action scenes with amazing stunning choreography. The best part of all though, is that this is a free entertainment while still being a must see experience!
The Not-so-Good:
The vibe of the movie might not work for every audience. Plus, the many 80s nods might not be understood or even familiar to everyone as well, especially those who are born after that era. The gory and bloody violence sometimes feel a bit too gross to view.
