I really enjoyed the movie Kundun. Though I am a christian and have my own beliefs, I really had a great deal of respect for the movie and the religion of Buddhism. I am more of a visual person and seeing the movie Kundun really helped me better understand the religion and the history of the Dalai Lama and the communism of China.

I think that Martin Scorsese did a wonderful job directing the movie and I loved how it wasn't based on special effects or Hollywood, but on the religion and the history and the way of life with the people in Tibet he displayed the truth and history of their way of life.

I really enjoyed the history of the 14th Dalai Lama being discovered at a young age, and even though the poeple of Tibet wanted him to become their ruler at an early age, he respected them and the repetitive behavior of past Dalai Lama's and waited until he was 18 to become their ruler.

Unfortunatley he did have to leave Tibet for a short while in order to protect himself, though I thought it was very brave and noble to retun in order to take care and watch over his people. I really liked the movie and the factual evidence of China's communism and their determination on domination of Tibet.

Unfortunately at te end the Dalai Lama had to flee Tibet again in order for his safety, and after much persuasion from the monks the made the long journey into India. I really did love the movie and would love to watch many more movies based on the Dalai Lama of Buddhism.
