Review of Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter (2014) by Sean W — 15 Feb 2015

Really interesting story, based on the Urban Legend of a Japanese woman who believed the movie Fargo was real and traveled to the U.S. in search of the money buried in movie. Rinko Kikuchi was amazing in this film.

Playing a almost depressed Kumiko who is positive a treasure exists. The ending was a open to interpretation kind of ending. The cinematography was beautiful with wonderful landscapes. In a way this is really sad film and you feel badly for the girl.

Sometimes it drag on a bit too much but it was wonderful in its own way. :).
