Review of Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) by Duncan P — 09 Jan 2017
Hearkening back to an older era of melancholic animation, and serving somewhat (I'm guessing) as an homage to works by Studio Ghibli in sensibilities, Kubo is spectacular, beautiful, unafraid, and frankly the best film that Laika has put out yet, fully realizing the dark potential they've played with very effectively in the past.
If, as an animation fan, Laika hasn't been on your radar before now, this should do more than enough to convince you they should be taken very seriously.
