Review of Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) by Josh F — 18 Jun 2017
The animation on Kubo and the Two Strings ALONE is a damn good reason why you should pay admission to watch this film. And that's not to say that the rest of the film isn't very, very good as well. Although I didn't love it quite as much as my favorite from Laika which is Paranorman, I still feel that although the script and some of the characters in Kubo and the Two Strings can be questionable occasionally, the film benefits very strongly from incredibly beautiful animation, an engaging storyline, and a very emotional punch the film ends up delivering by the end.
Grade: B+.
