Review of Krull (1983) by Hertig M — 15 Oct 2007
This is one of my favorite movies as a child, but even then it was one of those films which I felt was missing something. Watching it now takes me back to my childhood and it is a totally wonderful piece of personal nostalgia.
As a movie it is bloody awful, a confused plot, starting off as a really interesting sci-fi meets fantasy movie and descending into a run of the mill fantasy with too many people, not enough characters and a lousy final battle.
It is fun spotting all the British actors like Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane at the beginning of their careers and despite all of its problems that is really not what this film is about for me, it is more about a time and a place in my life.
