Review of Krull (1983) by Rajneel S — 06 Dec 2008
Unintentionally campy Star-Wars ripoff has strong points such as James Horner's terrific score (homaging his own work from "Star Trek II"), some early performances by a young Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane and some very cute ideas and a deliberate attempt to create a point of difference.
However, the film is camp as hell, terribly acted, has dodgy, seemingly incomplete visual effects, awful writing and gave 80's fantasy movies a bad name in a nostalgic, feel-good sort of way. Good for kids, but if you didn't see it as a child you may find it hard to swallow.
