Review of Krrish (2006) by Prithviraj P — 06 Jan 2010

*Maybe there's a minuscule spoiler in here.. just a warning*.

It's so much better than Koi... Mil Gaya.

Lets start with the bad:

I refuse to believe that Bollywood still doesn't have the technology to make Krrish run faster and jump farther. Why? Because at the end he actually beasts out and ends up doing what an adolescent Superman could do (except for the x-ray vision and laser eyes). He was ridiculously fast and strong. The jumping looked SO lame.

The good:

Awesome acting. Hrithik is the ONLY actor in Bollywood that could be taken seriously as a superhero, and he's definitely one of my favorites. Priyanka is an absolute goddess whose talent, intelligence and beauty are rivaled by few. As good as they both are, its their chemistry was surprising.

The story itself really had very little similarity to Koi... Mil Gaya until they tell you what the connection is. Its not like Spiderman where Spiderman 2 is the same shit. Totally different story line but they intertwined nicely.

I was also really impressed by what Hrithik does after the Asian dude gets hurt. He looked like he knew what he was doing with that sword and staff. Glad to see Bollywood putting SOME effort into their action and fight sequences now... after seeing the atrocious fight scene in Main Hoon Na... I had almost lost hope.

I think the visuals were more a lack of effort than anything... everything else was awesome.
