Die Hard is a film I almost feel silly talking about, because everyone should already know its greatness. I love the whole idea of one man who's in the right place at the right time messing up all the well-laid plans of the villain.

In many ways I think Die Hard might be a perfect film. Every fight feels real, every plot device has a setup and a payoff, every actor is fully invested in their role, and every story point makes sense.

Also the plot has just enough twists and turns to keep the audience guessing, but it doesn't fall apart when you scrutinize it. This is the kind of movie that I can turn on at any point and instantly become invested in the story and watch all the way to the end.

Die Hard is easily one of my top 10 movies of all time, and might even be in my top 5. It's one of those movies where I wonder what is wrong with someone when they say they don't like it. I literally could go on quoting lines and singing its praises for another 12 paragraphs, hammering home the remarkable achievements in every aspect of this iconic film, but I'll save you the reading.

Let's just leave it here: Die Hard is not only one of the greatest action movies of all time, one of the greatest thrillers of all time, one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time, and one of the greatest heist films of all time.

..it is one of the greatest films of all time, period.
