Review of Aquaman (2018) by Noah F — 16 Jan 2019
Prior to screening, I wanted to see this movie. After the initial reviews I read, I no longer was interested. As the reviews kept coming in, AQUAMAN was "maintaining" decent reviews. I finally saw the movie on 1-15-19 and what a waste money, story-Selling and money.
The initial reviews were right on. It was over 2 hours and felt like 4 hours. It dragged and focused on ridiculous and redundant chase and battle scenes which weren't even impressive. The actors have the attractive factor, and that's about it.
I can't wait when Hollywood gets over the "cutesy" one-liners and their attempts to tease audiences when actors "act out" their "flirty" glances. All of that is old, tired, overused and NOT cute or flirty at all.
There was a time when DC Comic Movies had better story telling and scripts. Now, it's all about battles, chases, poor scripts, attractive actor/models and making their quick dollars off of us as the viewers.
I guess I am giving up on all DC Comic movies now since the past several movies have had the same pathetic formula. But the box office is killing it. To Warner Brothers, "YOU'RE WELCOME.".
