Review of Krampus (2015) by Nelson M — 09 Dec 2015

Krampus is the second holiday themed horror comedy film that is written and directed by Michael Dougherty and It's also the second Folklore character that he has turned into a feature film. Krampus is Trci R Treat meets Gremlins and Christmas Vacation and if you are a fan of those films than this is a film for you.

It has more comedy than scares but that's ok because if you have seen Trick R Treat than you know what to expect when coming in watching this film. Unfortunatly this movie is not rated R so your not really getting all of the things that you have seen in Trick R Treat but it has a very Gremlins feeling because of all of the little creatures that is seen in this film.

What I really liked about his film is that it uses 80% of practical effects. Horror today uses a lot of CGI instead of practical which to me the CGI looks really bad and it does not age well. There are a few sequences in this film that is very CGI but thats ok majority of the rest of the characters are not CGI for example the Jack In The Box.

The movie is a lot of fun and is also something that you can add to your watch list for the Christmas season.
