Review of Krampus (2015) by Thomas H — 29 Dec 2015
The monster designs and movements are creative and genuinely creepy, particularly Krampus's movements on the roofs of the houses before the first victim meets their fate. The juxtaposition of the Christmas setting, happy objects like gingerbread men and jacks-in-the-box being subverted into deadly monsters, and the building sense of dread and inevitable doom are captivating.
You're lured in with the false sense of security that somehow it will be okay, and you want it to be okay, but you also know in your gut that it will not be.
